Dear Parents and Students,

Our next scheduled testing date is Saturday, August 21st at 12:30PM. Please plan accordingly and complete your testing form at least three days prior. As a reminder, there will be classes on this day as well. Official uniforms must be worn, and purple belts & higher must bring their sparring equipment.

In addition, the new schedule is now posted at our website: Fall Schedule - Effective Monday, August 30th.
(Be sure to scroll down the page to see the table and please read the footnotes.)

There are new class designations for Little Tigers and Juniors to accommodate the growth in student population and belt advancements. Please observe these age and belt categories when selecting classes to attend. With Master's permission, students can be accepted into leadership training and can come to lower belt classes for assistant instructor practice (note that he/she will not be trained in their curriculum and that attending these classes does not count towards program allotted classes per week).

In addition, aside from white belt testing, there will be no more belt testings conducted during regular class times. There is a time slot allotted for early/make-up testings on Saturdays at 9:30AM, and you will need to make an appointment.

Thank you!

Letter to Beginners

To those of you just beginning Tae Kwon Do, neither fear your newfound practice, nor expect too much of it. The majority of beginners experience a feeling of inadequacy with regard to performing the movements involved. If you feel this way, don't worry. It is common and short-lived.

You are not an expert in this art, you are a beginner, and so you are learning now. You are very lucky if you do not feel like this. If you expect too much in the beginning, you will disappoint yourself. An example: If you try to eat more than your stomach will hold, you are going to the hospital. You can digest only a certain amount each time.

Every beginner must remember, with some sweat and patience, you will get whatever you want from Tae Kwon Do. This is more than a guarantee. Later on, you will be saying this same thing to a beginner.

Starting now, this is your art too, not just your Master's or Instructor's.

Sincerely,

MASTER CHANG N. KANG
